Recordset won't open in specified mode, WHY???

hi all,

Im using VB 6.0 Pro, my DB is SQL server 2000 Eval edn. I am using
stored procedures to get data from my DB.

I am trying to open up a new recordset as a dynamic however it refuses
to open in this mode and instead loads in forward only.
Some code is here.
rsSearchedEmployees.Open "Code to open my recordset ",
MyOpenDBConnection, adOpenDynamic, adLockReadOnly

I place the following code after my open statement to determine type:
MsgBox ("search cursor type is " & .CursorType & "vb is : " &
adOpenForwardOnly & "status" & .Status)

It returns a message box indicating the cursor type is 0 which matches
with adOpenForwardOnly. Status is 0.

Why won't it open up as open dynamic as specified?
I need a dynamic recordset to allow the user to traverse forward or
backward with the list returned.

My stored procedure can be provided if nessasary, let me know if it is
helpful for you to diagnose.

More info: I have done this same thing for another set of data and it
works as expected, however that stored procedure was simplier than
than this one.

thanks

POST YOUR SQL!!!! If it's a summary query or something like that, it
CANNOT be updated!!!

PATIENT: Doc, it hurts.

DOCTOR: Where does it hurt?

PATIENT: I don't know...

DOCTOR: Well, can't help ya then. Take 2 aspirin and call me in the
morning.

Thats a little rude. He's stated that he will supply SQL if it helps
