API Confused

I'm going through Dan Appleman's book on API and am getting so confused.
Can anyone suggest additional resources that might help me get the fog in my
brain cleared?

Thanks
Sue

Which part confuses you Sue?

Dan Appleman's book is the *best*, hoiwever, it was not intended for
beginning programming. So unless you have dabled with VB for a while and
have used API calls, it is a little advanced.

I suggest you follow the book chapter by chapter and use the CD that came
with it and look at the chapters examples. Dan commented his code pretty
good.

If there is anything specific you need help with, just post your question
here.

There are 3 other VB/API books that I'm aware of... you might want to check
them out at you local book store (if you can find them):

"Visual Basic 6 Win32 API Tutorial"
by Jason Bock, Wrox Press

and

"Win32 API Programming with Visual Basic"
by Steven Roman, O'Reilly Press

and

"Visual Basic Developer's Guide to the Win32 API"
by Steve Brown, Sybex Press

Code Examples are really useful

There is a downloadable API Guide from :
www.AllAPI.net
that is stuffed with good working demonstrations

Also the Win32 Programmer's Reference Help File that should have come
with VB is extremely useful, it may be in C, but one gets used to
that.
