most people dont liek bound controls when it comes to mission critical apps.
if you make youself a contact management program using an access database,
on no network, then you can use bound controls.
If you get to where more than one user might be using the database then
bound controls quickly become a nightmare as far as who has the record
available for writing. there's no control over record contents as compared
to what you are seeing on the screen.
This is basically why I prefer not to use bound controls. for he sake of
data integrity.
