This is the exact error message:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At "

Private Declare Function CreateCVaul"
error 100: SYNTAX ERROR while processing "Function"

Expected token NewLine or Colon or COMMA
or LEFTPARENTHESIS or StmtParamsStart .
Expected construction : description of variables.
Expected construction : list of variables.
Expected construction : the name of a variable or, if it is an array, its dimension.
Expected construction : the variable name.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I placed the dll in the same folder as this vb script.

I am actually using an Automated software known as TestComplete to run this.

The sentence is suppose to allow me to call a C++ function form VB.

Hi,

First u need to copy ur C++ dll in ur Working Folder in VB.. And u have to Create a ".def" file which shows the Name which u can declare in VB..
It shud look something like this :

LIBRARY MYDLL
EXPORTS
MyDllForVB

And in VB, u can declare:

Private Declare Function MyDllForVB Lib "MYDLL.dll" () As Long

I have run an experiment to try to learn some things about floating point performance in managed C++. I am using Visual Studio 2003. I was hoping to get a feel for whether or not it would make sense to punch out from managed code to native code (I was using IJW) in order to do some amount of floating point work and, if so, what that certain amount of floating point work was approximately. To attempt to do this I made a program that...

I just read §2.11.3 of D&E, and I have to say, I'm quite puzzled by what it says. http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/essential/concurrency/syncrgb.html <shrug> -- NOUN:1. All, Not sure if this is possible or not - I've created a class which performs an asynchronous operation and provides notification when the operation is complete. I'd like the notification to be performed on the same thread thread that instantiated the class. One way to do this is to pass an ISynchronizeInvoke into the class and use it to synchronize the callback. In the constructor of the class, could I take note of the current thread...

in a generic class, can I code the class so that I can call a static method of the generic class T? I have a class which is not intended to be instantiated. Instead of using the class to creating an instance and then operate on it, I use the class directly, with classmethods. Essentially, the class is used as a function that keeps state from one call to the next. The problem is that I don't know what to call such a thing! "Abstract class" isn't right, because that implies that you should subclass the class and then instantiate the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
