MSDN Collection Library for Visual Basic 6

1 New Member
Where do I find a copy of the MSDN Collection for Visual Basic 6. When writing code for Visual Basic 6, if I request Help via Help/Contents I get the following error message: "The MSDN collection does not exist. Please reinstall MSDN". I've got 1 CD of a 2 CD set. I need to find out where I can buy or download a complete copy.

Hello Rob!

I am afraid I do not have good news. I searched everwhere for you and could not find a copy of VB 6 MSDN for download. You may consider getting a student version of VB 6 to grab the library that way. I should perhaps mention a version of VB 2005 is available free, included with a newer MSDN library; just in case you're interested.

Have a great week!

I recently had to reinstall visual basic 6.0. I also reinstalled the msdn files that came with vb6. When I need to search for an item in help, I type the keyword into the text box on the index tab. If I double click any of the possible results that are returned, a dialog box is displayed with the message Please Insert the cd-rom disc labeled "MSDN VS 6.0 CD2" into drive E. Previously, I did not have to have the msdn cd in the drive

Is there a way to let VB6 know that the MSDN collection is indeed installed. T.i.a. Regards,

I am developing an application where I need to secure a workstation for periods of time. I can use BlockInput to stop users from task switching or messing with the keyboard, but I would like to disable Ctrl-Alt-Delete. It seems there seems to be only one real way I know about: Write a replacement Gina Driver to eat the keyboard events I dont want. Does anyone have a good template for this in Visual Basic .Net?

Hi, I'm using Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and want to reference the ThisApplication variable but cannot get to it or find the OfficeCodeBehind class. Is this a shortcomming of the fact that I have Microsoft Visual Basic and not Visual Studio .NET? I have had to move to Visual Studio.NET Pro. from Visual Basic 4.0 and am now starting to re-write our code. I was a bit surprised to find that Visual Basic.NET no longer supports fixed length strings, which is a pain as we use our own database format with specific, user-defined data types and random access files. An example module content would be Option Explici Type Record Operation As String * 4 unit As String * 2 Marker1 As String *...

Hi, I have been searching for a possible list that shows what methods or properties in the System Names replace the ones in the Visual Basic Namespace so I can stop using the Visual Basic Namespace on new projects. Thus far I have been unable to find this information, please inform me. For example in the Visual Basic Namespace there are Control Characters like Tab and Back and so on. Where are the equivalents in the System Namespace?

Hi, I need some help in making a design choice for a project which we are currently working on. My client has a VB6 application which we don't see them actually changing in the near future. They are asking us to produce an dll interface component to interface directly with the vb6 app. Now initial thoughs were to write the dll in VB6 and have done with it. However Vb6 resources are thin on the ground

Hi all, Having some trouble using named pipes and Visual Basic .NET and would appreciate and help you could offer. Essentially I am trying to develop a simple client/server application that exchanges text messages using named pipes. The internet resources seem a bit scarce and the only Microsoft resource I can find is http://support.microsoft.com/kb/871044.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
