LoadXML problem in framework 4.6.1

I have a problem in the following code abstract, which worked successfully in framework 4.0.
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.                 Using WC As New System.Net.WebClient()
  2.                         Dim Doc As String = WC.DownloadString(GwcUrl)
  3.
  4.                         Dim xmlDoc As New XmlDocument()
  5.                         xmlDoc.LoadXml(Doc)
  6.
  7.                     End Using
  8.
In the framework 4.6.1 I receive the error message
"Error loading from 'xxx' xlink is undeclared prefix"

Here 'xxx' is the internet address of schema where xlink is declared.

Please help...

This is likely to do with the contents of the document you are downloading, however you could try as an interim solution downloading the document manual and then loading the downloaded document in your program from the local disk.
