hi everybody,

im new in vb.net. im trying to make a win form application using visual studio 2008 express edition (which is free to download and install).

i have installed a ms sql server 2005 on the local server at LAN. i want to display a combo box values from a table inside a database but i dont know how i can do this with ms sql connection string and where i have to store dat connection string. i have googled around but nothing useful found.

please tell me where the connection string will be stored and if this form is not on the same computer (where the sql server installed) then wat will happen? the connection string will be changed???

sql server is installed at windows server. im trying to make an application which runs on the same network (local i.e. LAN not on web server).

please guide and help me what will be a good approach to achieve this? alot of data will be fetched from the sql server and there will be alot of forms. please guide me wat is the best way to connect to sql server and which connection will be better.

i again wana tell dat im not using msql express or compact edition. its a ms sql enterprise edition. please guide me.
