How ot get an array location first Charector ?

Hello

I want to get the array location first charector

for example i declare the following array.

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. dim array1 as string ()=new string(0){}
  2. for i as integer=0 to array1.getupperbound(0)
  3. console.write("Enter any Name: {0}",array1(i)")
  4. array1(i)=console.readline()
  5. console.write("The output is {0}",array1(i))
  6. next
  7. console.readline()
so now i run the program and give the input like below.

Enter any Name:scott

Now i want to get the charector (s) from the array location Zero

So how to do it Looking forword to the best answer thanks in advance

TIP: When you are writing your question, there is a button on the tool bar that wraps the [code] tags around your copy/pasted code. It helps a bunch. Its the button with a '#' on it. More on tags. They're cool. Check'em out.

There are several methods available for you to use for string manipulation.
Please take a look at the String methods and choose one that is appropriate for your task.
