project settings changing one connection string changes them all

Using VB.NET, VS 2008 v9.0.21022.8 RTM, Windows Forms project.

I have entered several settings of type (connection strings) on the Settings
tab in the project properties screen. They all have different names and
different values.

Sometimes, if I change the value of one of the connection string settings,
the change is applied to all of the connection string settings. The change
is saved to all the connection strings section of the app.config file.

How can I prevent this?

Thanks
Bill
