When Visual Studio 2008 is releasing

Also want to know when SQL Server 2008 is releasing.

It is planned for this year.

VS2008 is already available to MSDN subscribers. It should go public around
the same time as SQL2008 which is estimated to be end of Q1 or start of Q2
of this year. Let's hope it's a little more polished than Vista...

Here is a list of some MS kickoff events in the US from Feb 27 to May 22:

so my guess is that it will be officially released in that same time frame.
I'm not sure how the spread of the multi-session (multi-month) launch events
will relate to the date of in-store availability.

The URL above indicates that attendees will recieve a promotional versions
of the products being launched, in case that helps you. I'm not sure if
registration is FCFS or if they are screening for target audience, so your
milage may vary.
