VB Express 2005 port access possible?

I am using VB Express 2005 on my Compaq Presario V2000 laptop that is
running on WinXP home edition with SP2. The laptop does not have built in
parallel or serial ports, only 2 USB 2.0 ports.

Can Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition be made to access (read and write) to:

(1) my laptop's built in USB 2.0 ports
(2) a USB to RS-232 adapter, i.e. Radio Shack # 26-183
(3) a PCMCIA to IEEE 1284 parallel adapter card, i.e. Quatech SPP-100?

Certainly a usb - rs232 adapter works using the serialport control
