Access Denied on all vb.net (Win Form) WMI queries

I am running into an issue where WMI queries from VB.NET are giving me an
'Access Denied' on the ObjectSearcher.Get method.

My ManagementScope is connecting to the server just fine and I am specifying
a username and password (I have tried all the settings for impersonation and
authentication too) and If I give it a bogus username it fails to connect,
so at least I know that portion is working ok.

I have verified the WMI security as well as the DCOM security and both are
set to allow Administrators. Also, if I run the exact same queries using the
Microsoft WMI tools (CIM Studio) they work perfectly so I am pretty sure the
security on the server is setup correctly.

I think my .net application is being sandboxed and I don't know enough
about the .NET security to fix it. I have been searching the web for answers
but they are all dealing with ASP.NET (mine is a Windows application) so
those procedures do not help me.

Any suggestions are appreciated!!
