Problems with IDE and DataGridView

I add a DataGridView to a new form. Then click the tasks icon, then attempt
to select datasource. I get an error "Error using the dropdown: Object
reference not set to an instance of an object".

Please please please MS I am sure you know what object is not there. Can
you please give error messages that help the developer? I know there is a
history of error messages that are less than helpful but...

Anyway this is new form, no code in form so I am at a loss.

Lloyd,

The change that your messages has any effect is low.
There is a special website for this kind of problmes.

Thanks for the link but I have given up on MS responding to problems. I was
hoping that someone else had run into the same problem. It occurs in a
multi-project solution. The problem I have is with any form / usercontrol
created in the "main" / "startup" project within the solution. If I create
a new form / usercontrol in the other solutions I do not have this problem.

I have a feeling it is deep in the properties of the main project as on
occasion I cannot edit/continue while debuggin the solution in the main form
but can edit/continue in other projects in the solution.

As for the editorializing after a day of fighting with VS it would be nice
if when MS finds an error they report it as such with as many details as
possible.
