use my.settings or not use my.settings?

Hi,

I have always saved my app settings in a single file of my own making. Now I
am updating for vista. I have been playing with my.settings and it seems
flakey or hard to use.

So the question. I can save the settings myself as I always did, as long as
its into the users something or other folder, right?

And so I see some advantages and ease issues with my.settings but I have
lots of settings from an old program and I have worked for a few days with it
and still find it hard to use and goofy.

Sould I (can I ?) keep my own settings file or change to my.settings? I want
to run on win98-vista + with app made with vb.net2

Thanks,

Tom
