MTGC ComboBox Issue

Hello, this is my first post:

I have a problem, I'm working on a combox function and after
retreiving relavent information. The combox will hide itself.

cmbTransactionNo.Text = cmbTransactionNoAlt.SelectedItem.col2
txtTransactionNo.Text = cmbTransactionNoAlt.SelectedItem.col2
cmbTransactionNoAlt.Hide()

But as I do this, the selectedIndexChanged function automatically gets
invoked and the Index of the combo box changed. I don't know how to
use Hide() while keep SelectedIndex the same and not invoke
selectedIndexChanged function because there are code there that I
don't want run with a different selectedIndex number.

Thank you for your help
