I am having a strange problem that just started today. When I open
VS2003 and open a project, I can edit to my heart's content. If I run
the program in Debug mode, most of it works EXCEPT some calls to the
database to populate datagrids. The program seems to hang, and then I
get an error that the timeout has expired.
If I run the .exe that was created in that debug session, the program
runs fine (including the changes I have made).
This is on an XP-64 fully patched machine (including Tuesday's
updates). It is a local database, and all of the connection strings
are as they should be. I cannot find anything on MSDN or a web search
that describes the problem - it compiles with no errors and as I said
the .exe works fine.
Any ideas where I can start to look for the reason that this happens?
Until today there was no problem, but I have not tried to change
anything since the Second Tuesday Patches were released.
