DBOpenDatabase: reconnecting

Joe
hi can one reconnect to the database (Oracle) after loosing
connection?
i do it this way

I can catch exception doing DbCreateDynaset("SELECT ....

however after lost connection, vb does not establish it back.
I tryied just to create session again:

CreateObject("OracleInProcServer.XOraSession") with DBOpenDatabase but
it seems not to work. db is still disconnected.

Any clues?
