I'm running the same setup you propose on a Vista Ultimate box with no
issues. I work with a variety of VB, C# Windows and web apps, and C++
native, MFC and CLI.
You'll need to run as administrator (and you'll be reminded).
I'm not having issues.

outright falsehoods?

..net 1.0 and 1.1 won't ever work on Vista
..net 2.0 needs a special PATCH to work on Vista

don't go around spreading FALSEHOODS YOURSELF, M$ FANBOY!

vb6 is the only release that has a PRACTICAL deployment path

build the exe and copy it; no installer necessary

I mean seriously here

Microsoft got the .NET strategy from the back of a cracker jacks box

I mean-- FOR REAL
it's not on any desktops

the development environment RUNS LIKE CRAP

stick a fork in it kids

If you insist on trolling here, at least try to do so in a competent manner
and keep your facts straight.

All versions of the .NET Framework are supported in Vista, it's the earlier
versions of Visual Studio (.NET 2002 and .NET 2003) that are not. .NET 2.0
needs no patch, it's Visual Studio 2005 that requires both Service Pack 1
and the VS 2005 Vista patch.

If the best you can do in rebuttal is childish name calling ("don't go
around spreading FALSEHOODS YOURSELF, M$ FANBOY!") you don't even qualify as
an apprentice troll ;)
