the beginning of the end for VB?

http://www.eetimes.com/news/latest/s...leID=197005873

it looks to me like M$ is not supporting VB anymore

MS is not dropping VB. You're inappropriately extrapolating an article
about coding for embedded devices to the entire universe.

Huh !! ..... has MS ever suported embedded systems with VB ?

I do not think so thus what is your point ?
Embedded systems were programmed in C like syntax so it is not more as
logical to release a C# version to replace this

C# does not exist; fuck C#

VB is the language of choice

this is the last straw; time for rioting in the streets.

BRING BACK VB OR EAT FIRE AND DEATH, MS

C# DOES NOT EXIST

WHAT USED TO BE C SHOULD GO INTO THE WORLDS MOST POPULAR LANGUAGE

VB6

Well, they were developed using C because of its runtime characteristics,
but with C# and VB both running on the same CLR I don't see any reason for
not supporting VB.

Herfried ,

Only thing i can think of is target audience ,,,,, same is seen by the
robotic examples lots of C# examples and only a few VB examples
Technicly speaking they should both be capable to do the same ( C# , VB )
however my thought is that these MS teams are targeting there products to
the broadest public , so maybe a VB version will be there in a few months /
years or even never .

Herfried,

I thought to have seen that you have taken an action somewhere else. However
in this case I would like it more as there was more effort taken in DirectX
for VB.Net.

However I agree with your action of course.

Although this is not the professional market, I remember VB6 being very
popular for Lego Mindstorm robot programming.

I hope that there will be VB versions made available too. In most cases
this should not take such a huge effort.

I fully agree. I'd like to see VB support everywhere where VB is (from a
technical standpoint) as appropriate as C#.

they don't provide VB examples for ANYTHING anymore

just a bunch of C dorks and Excel dorks.
they don't understand the VB MARKET.

I'm not going to be so soft as 'Id like to see'

I DEMAND VB ON AN EQUAL FOOTING WITH CSHARP.

CSHARP DID NOT EXIST 5 YEARS AGO.
I DONT CARE IF IT IS MORE POPULAR, I DO NOT RECOGNIZE C# AS AN OPTION
SO MS CAN BURN IN HELL UNTIL THEY PUT VB ON AN EQUAL FOOTING.

I DEMAND AN EQUAL FOOTING FOR VB
OR SHIT, IF YOUR STUPID COMPANY CAN'T AFFORD TO PUT VB AND C# ON THE
SAME FOOTING THEN _DISCONTINUE_ CSHARP

I strongly applaud your courage

please keep up the good work; spreading the good word of VB6

dotnet is a half-baked solution at best; it doesn't run SQL jobs; you
can't cut and paste .NET code in Excel

..NET is irrelevent
