Decompiling,disassembling - differences

Al
Having a net 2.0 exe or dll

and having protect it with tools like
Salamander Remotesoft
or DotFuscator Professional
or Xenocode Postbuild

from what type of threat it will be protected?

It seems that a disassembler will be able to open the file
and save it to a textual .il file
so you can read it with you eyes
but you 'll find a messy code (variables renamed, flow changed...)

but if I'm a good cracker and I'm able to see where the hot part is
and go to change (let's say) 0 to 1

then the changed .il file can be used by a free compiler
(like the one with VS2005)
and be compiled again so to have a fully working exe or dll?
I'm afraid yes, am I right?

--------- Also ---------------

Having a net 2.0 exe or dll
and having protect it with the tools above mentioned

what a decompiler (not a disassembler) can do?

Or a decompiler with the Net .exe and .dll files
is not related at all?

And obviously if it is a threat, how can prevent it?

---------------------------

Thanks
