Resolving e-mail addresses via Mapi

[Originally posted to microsoft.public.dotnet.vb.general, but that
appears to be an unofficial group, so re-posting here]

Hi,

[If there's a more appropriate group this should be posted to, please
let me know; I couldn't see one but may just have missed it]

I've been searching Google for ideas as to how to use Mapi (in this
case an Outlook client connecting to Exchange Server) from VB.NET to
resolve e-mail addresses for contacts for which we have no information
other than their name, but have been unable to find anything that
addresses this particular scenario.

Ideally, I'd like to do something along the lines of:
- Given a contact's name, attempt to resolve it to an e-mail address
using the address book
- If resolution fails for some reason (e.g. no matches, multiple
matches) offer the user some means of selecting the address. If there
were multiple matches this would preferably allow the user to select
one of the matches, but in either case a display of the whole address
book would be ok.

Any hints or suggestions as to where to look / which direction to start
looking in would be gratefully received.

Thanks,

Adam
