Loading Data when logged in

Hello Newsgroup,

I'm new to .Net.
I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and .Net Framework 2.0

My Problem:

I'm trying to make a web application with asp.net 2.0 and for the code
I'm using VB.
When you enter the Website you can make a log in.
When you're logged in as a Member (group) a link appears.
This link brings you to a site where you can see a details view which
is connected to a datasource.
(very similar to a profile you can fill in at most sites)

What I want to do is, when the User logs in and clicks on the link the
Database only should load his data.
For the Login User names I use numbers (i.e. 1672)
These Numbers are in a row of the database.

As I know from Programming with VB I must do an Sql Query.
My only Problem with it is that i don't know how to send the Parameter
from the loginNameTextBox to the Sql query.
In Visual Studio 2005 normally i had a dataset where i could type sql
queries and pass parameters

I hope you can help me.
Thanks
Probably my English is not the best, sorry for that.
