checkbox Databinding doesn't update

The project I'm working on is using data classes to pass the data
between layers.

In one from I databind the class data to checkboxes.

..chbCslty_Loss_Ind.DataBindings.Add("checked", _eligibilityData,
"Cslty_Loss_Ind")
..chbD_and_O_Pol_Ind.DataBindings.Add("checked", _eligibilityData,
"D_and_O_Pol_Ind")

If I check the box using the form, the class gets the correct value of
the check box. If I set the checkbox using code, the databind class
does not get the new value.

i.e.
chbCslty_Loss_Ind.DataBindings.checked = false

Should make the data class value 0, instead it stays 1, if it was
clicked through the form.

Thanks
