COM+ application proxy problems

We have installed a serviced component in the COM+ catalog on a Windows
Server 2000 machine. Let's say version 1.0 of the component. An
application proxy is created and used on other servers as well as
personal computers for various desktop and web applications. Later,
modifications are made to the component and a new version is created.
Let's say version 1.1. This modified component is installed in the
same server application which, after installation, will now have the
same components appear multiple times in the COM+ application. Each
component will have unique IDs.

The problem occurs when we attempt to create an application proxy.
Walking through the COM Application Export Wizard, when we assign a
path and filename for the application file to be created an error
occurs which doesn't quite make sense. The error is "Error
occurred writing to the application file. Either the path cannot be
accessed or an existing file cannot be overwritten. Make sure you
entered the full path for the application definition file. The
application was not exported."

Again, this error does not make sense because the path is accessible
and there is no existing file with the same name. This error has never
occurred when components are installed only once in the application.

Any assistance on this will be appreciated.
