Visual Style Corruption when converting from Framework 1.1 to 2.0

Hi all,

I have a project first written in VS2003 with Framework 1.1 which I then
converted to VS2005.

It didn't take me long to realise that the default visual styles for such
things as message box buttons were showing the older look as per Framework 1.

After a bit of trial and error I have come to discover that it appears the
issue lies with the dotnet TabControl that I have in my project. If you
create a project under Framework 1.1 with a single form that only has a
TabControl on it then convert to VS2005, anything further you place on that
form in VS2005 will appear fine at design time but revert to the old style at
runtime.

If you were to use Application.EnableVisualStyles in 2005, this will correct
the issue for the buttons on the message box, but it does nothing for the
style of the tab control. Even if you delete the old tab control and add a
new one nothing changes.

Does anyone know how to overcome this?

Is this a bug in the 2.0 Framework?

Any assistance would be much appreciated.
regards,

Dominic
