I have a VB6 Project that uses an ini file to save selected printer settings
for several forms. The program allows users to select the printer on their
work station for printing forms. If a printer is not selected for a
particular form, the user is prompted to select a printer. The program saves
the printer selections to an ini file.
THE PROBLEM:
This program works well most of the time. On occasion, a specific printer
(acutally a fax printer - Zetafax) will take over as the default printer for
a form. The INI file can show a different printer, but the fax will display
as the selected printer in the print dialog. It sometimes then writes itself
into the ini file as the desired printer. I have gone back and hardcoded the
desired printers into the ini file and the fax will still display as the
selected printer.
I have been able to remedy this issue on occasion by removing all printer
settings in the ini file and re-establishing them throught the vb application
while leaving the fax printer not selected. I then can add the fax printer
and the application may work for a while and then the issue starts again.
Has anyone else had this type of issue and can anyone suggest a solution?
