VB.Net 2003 Off-Line Application and Https

When a Offline VB.NET 2003 application logins into a Https server, is
the generated traffic encrypted by default like when you do the same
using your Browser.

Or do you have to explicitly encrypt it yourself?

Thanks
Boulent
