convert an xmlString createt by a vFoxPro webservice into a DataSet

I call a webservice written in Visual FoxPro which returns an xml string
like this
<?xml version = "1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"
standalone='yes'?><VFPData><curartikel><art_nr>120 45</art_nr><farb_nr>26</farb_nr></curartikel></VFPData>

Im unable to convert the XML string into a DataSet.This is what i've tried:
Dim strResulFromWebService As String = ws.GetItems("12345")

Dim MyStream = New System.IO.StringReader(strResulFromWebService)

Dim ds As DataSet = ds.ReadXml(MyStream)
What's wrong?
