Using the ReportViewer

hello experts
i've started using VB2005 lately. so please be patient.
i'm trying to create a report using the .rdlc file and ReportView control.
the report looks and behaves nicley.
what i need is to filter the report's data (someDataBindingSource) according
to users selections on a form (doing so on a datagridView works fine)
and pass some parameters (extra information to show on the report in
addition to the data)
the samples and examples i found in help are either not in VB (c# and
chinese are same same for me) or simply dont work at all (even while copying
and pasting them)

any help will be appreciated,
thanx
Erez..
