Problem adding custom roleManager Provider dll to web.config file

P: n/a

I have built a custom roleManager Provider that I have turned into a
dll so I can share it accross multiple applications. When I try to add
it to a web.config file I get the following error:

The given assembly name or codebase was invalid. (Exception from
HRESULT: 0x80131047)

Here is the web.config code:

<roleManager enabled="true" defaultProvider="SiRoleProviderClass">
<add name="SiRoleProviderClass" type="SiRoleProviderClass,
Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=ff398cf9670f1534"
connectionStringName = "MyDB" applicationName="/" />

I have added my dll as a reference to the project and VS has created a
bin folder with the dll, called SiRoleProviderClass.dll, in it.

I have the feeling I am not specifting the type properly, I have tried
many variations, but I am not sure at this point what's wrong.
