IDE slows up after 2 hours

guy
I am using VS2005 Pro and have noticed that after 1.5-2.5 hours usage the IDE
slows up so that for example each keystroke takes 2-3 seconds to be
processed, dragging a scrollbar may take longer. only a reboot seems to cure
this.

The box is a Compaq EVO (not sure of processor speed) and it has 1Gb of RAM,
other people working on similar projects with 500Mb RAM do not experience this

any ideas/suggestions?
