I have a 9,000-line usercontrol. Sometimes when I hit Ctrl-F, it takes
a long time before the Find/Replace dialog pops up. And when it
appears, it is not very responsive.
After some trial and error I think I have found some method to the
madness:
If the cursor is placed outside any methods or functions (i.e. in the
declarations area), there are no problems.
If the cursor is on a line near the end of a method or function, no
problems either.
If the cursor is anywhere in a method or function located at the
end of the document, still no problems.
BUT: If the cursor is on a line near the start of a big method or
function located at the top of the document (in this case a
9,000-line usercontrol), it takes quite a few seconds for the
dialog to appear - and it is painfully slow to work with.
At least now I know how to avoid it, but the question is:
Is this correctly observed? And is there anything I can do
to fix it so I do not have to think about where I put the cursor
every time I invoke the Find/Replace dialog?
TIA,
