My.Blogs VS 2005 Sample App Snippet install fails

My attempt to follow the steps outlined in "Getting started with My.Blogs"
[see
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/def...sGetStart.asp],
fails immediately. Step 2 states
'Double-click on My.Blogs.vsi and accept all the default options. This will
install a new Template to the Add New Item dialog box called "My.Blogs".'
However, when I try this, the second screen ['Select an installation
location for each VB code snippet'] does not show a default location
checked. I have tried accepting this default of no selection, and I've
tried selecting 'My Code Snippets'. In either case, after clicking 'Finish'
I receive an error message there was an error installing the template:
"Installation stopped because the directory for the ProjectType value did
not exist. The project type is invalid for your installation of Visual
Studio."

My system runs XP Pro and Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition (release
version). The system has never had a beta version of VS 2005 installed.

I suppose if I spend a lot of time reading MSDN, I might be able to figure
out the problem. It seems ridiculous that I should go to those lengths to
install a sample app that is intended to help users learn features of a new
product. Am I making an error that a new user shouldn't incur? Any
direction is appreciated...
