Access to Datafile Denied in Web App

I have a VB .Net 2003 web application and am using IIS 5.1 to check it out.
The program accesses a data file in the c:\inetpub\wwwroot\_private folder
but I get an access denied message. The error message goes on to say:

To grant ASP.NET access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer, choose
"Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate
user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the boxes for the
desired access.

but when I right-c;ick the file the security tab is not shown ... only
General and Summary are shown. Can someone help me?
Thanks

Fripper,
Know that you are forever welcome here even if you don't know what is the
right newsgroup

Your question is in my opinion as much related to the language.vb as that it
is to the brand of keyboard that you are using. "You are using that".

Maybe can somebody help you here, however you have much more change on an
answer in a newsgroup about IIS or even about the framework itself as by
instance

microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.aspnet

I hope this helps something.
