Evaluasting formula

I am looking for a method of evaluating "simple mathmatical expressions
i.e. 2*3+6

or (2+6)* 3

I have a very old set of routines (ported from dos) but they are very slow.

Is there a simple way of doing this in vb.net (2003) or does anyone know
of a set of routines to do it?

Thanks
