Flagging new email messages

BL
Hi all,

I've got a number of sub-folders in my Outlook Express Inbox. I've also set
up a number of message rules to make sure that email from particular
individuals/organisations are moved to specific sub-folders.

For one reason or another, I don't always read all email messages in my
Inbox and in the various sub-folders. As you all know, in this situation
the sub-folder's name will usually appear in bold with the number of unread
messages in brackets appearing after it. Hence, at any one time I will have
a number of sub-folders that contain unread messages. Because of this,
whenever I get new mail I have to go through each one of these sub-folders
to find the new e-mail messages. This is starting to annoy me.

I figure that the quickest way to find my new email messages would be to
find a way to flag which folders have received new entries. The best way of
doing this would be if I could get the name of the affected sub-folders to
appear highlighted or perhaps in bold in a different colour (say blue
instead of the usual black). Does anyone know how I might do this? Since
there does not appear to be any basic setting for this, if this is possible
at all I assume that it will require some coding in vb or vba.
Thanks in advance
BL
