Help with data views

I have a data table that I am trying to create a view for. I want to allow
the user to input either a word or multiple words and perform a wildcard
search with those words in multiple columns. I have created a function that
creates the where string. For example, user seaches for "word1" and "word2"
in columns "A" and "B". The resulting string will be:

A Like '%word1%word2%' Or A Like '%word2%word1%' Or B Like '%word1%word2%'
Or B Like '%word2%word1%'

This allows my to create a wildcard search that doesnt' specify the order of
the words as well as doing so on multiple columns. My problem comes in when I
try passing this into a data view. The where part of a data view won't take a
wildcard character in the middle of the word. Does anyone know if there are
any word arounds for this problem?
