Seting spitposition has no effect on server 2003

I have a splitter:

Private Sub Trusses_Resize(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As
System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Resize

Me.Splitter1.SplitPosition = 60

End sub

When the form is launched as an mdichild in maximized mode the above
statement is effectively ignored, as after this statement the value is
-1.

If the form is resized after this it works.

This is of course only true on my win 2003 server sp1 running Citrix.

I even placed the "me.splitter.splitpostion = 60" in the at the bottom
load event of the form, still no change.
