P: n/a
If i want to implement a .net service which takes its parameters over
the network from a server application, which technology would anyone
reccomend

should i use a winsock listener on the server or can i use remoting?

Hi Glen,

I have not long finished a 3-tier db app. It allows multiple clients to
access a remote sql server via a windows service on another 'server'. I used
remoting via TCP/IP and all works perfectly well.

I am not necessarily suggesting that I have used good techniques or
implemented security policies ( this was all on an intranet site), but it
works for us!

Good luck. Phil
