my IDE -- what did I do to it ?

Fired up VS 2003 this morning, editing VB application and now I cannot open
Design View and Code View at the same time. If I select "view code" while in
Design View, the code appears, but there is no tab to switch back to Design
View. If I double-click the vb app, the Design View replaces the code window
and tab. I work on this at two different computers -- everything was okay
yesterday on the other computer.

Did you add another class ahead of your form class?

The designer can get upset if the form or control class is not the first in
the file.

This is the same project as on the other computer -- and it worked okay here
just last week.

I quit everything, closed all projects, and created a new app, one form,
text box and command button printing "hello world" in the text box.

When I double-click on an element on the form (e.g. command button) the code
window window opens okay. The application works okay.

When I close the design view and the code window, double-click on the vb app
in the solution explorer, the design view open, as normal. Then, when I
right-click and choose "vuew code", this problem occurs -- the design window
and tab disappear and the code window appears. double-clicking the app in
the solution explorer brings the design view back, but closes the code window.

I just did a "repair" of VS .Net 2003 Pro -- same thing is happening.
