Q: Shortcuts in a menu

Hi

I've added some menu items to an application with an ampersand i.e.

&File

In the designer, this does as I intended i.e. it puts a line under F. My
understanding is that if you do Alt-F when on the menu it will select it.
However, when I run the application, the line is not there!!!???

Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

Geoff,

Notice that when you run the program and press Alt the underscores do show up?

Choose the Appearance tab from Display Properties. Click Effects. Notice the
option "Hide underline letters for keyboard navigation until I press the Alt
key"

This is a Windows XP user setting.

Actually, it first appeared in 2K (and I believe Windows ME).
