IDE stalling quirk

Sometimes I notice that during any kind of edit at all, or highlighting some
code to copy it, or a recompile, the IDE stalls for no apparent reason with
no disk or CPU activity, sometimes for 10 seconds or more. I've discovered
this only happens if I'm working on a project that compiles directly to a
DLL being used in a plugin (regardless of whether or not it is currently
loaded and running).

Anyone want to corroborate my findings? Know the reason? Know of a fix?

Thanks,
Paul
