Finding & entering text into another application's edit box

If I wanted a VB application to find the edit box of another, external
application, and enter text into this edit box, how would I go about
doing this?

How do I get the handle for a specific edit box in another application?
Also, is it possible for a VB.NET applicatin to find and click on a
button in another application?

Thanks for your help!

Hi!

No one responded to my question because:
(please check all that apply)

[ ] A. It is a very difficult question, and no-one knows the answer
[ ] B. It was a rediculously simple FAQ that I missed while RTFM.
[ ] C. It is a long and complex question to answer, no one had time.
[ ] D. No one saw it before it dropped off the front page
[ ] E. We all hate you and think your ugly. Besides, you smell.

Must be E. Then: you all hate me and think I'm ugly ;^).

One last (I promise!) bump just in case someone is online today that
can point me in the right direction.

If the other external application is your own VB app then try:
http://vbaccelerator.com/home/NET/Co...on/article.asp

If you did not code the other app then in VB6 we use to use:
EnumWindows and EnumChildWindows API

Sorry I do not have any VB.Net examples for you.

Thanks for the info!

I did not write the other external application, and don't have access
to the source code. I just have the VB.Net program I'm currently
writing-- but this is still helpful, thank you. =^)
