makefile

Is it possible to generate some kind of makefile from vb? (with VS2003's
native tools)

Or is the only option to use .sln-files?

I don't know of makefiles for vb projects, but if you only want to avoid
manually starting the IDE and building the solution, and if you don't mind
using VS to build the project, you can build the solution from the command
line:

devenv.exe /build debug "my.sln"

See help index for more info on command line arguments.

.... or start "devenv.exe /?" :-).
