Accessing SQL DB with VB.NET Standard

P: n/a
I'm having an issue when attempting to use server explorer to connect to an
SQL database via VB.NET standard. I get something along the lines of
"Unable to connect to database. It is only possible to connect to SQL Server
Desktop Engine databases ..with this version of Visual Studio"
I understand that this is a limitation of the Standard flavor. I'd like to
know at what level does this issue disappear? Is the functionality
available in Visual Studio .NET PROFESSIONAL? or do I have to upgrade to
Enterprise?

Thanks,
mike

Mike,

AFAIK can you in every version even the completly free VBC version connect
to a database. Only things as the designer tools and the collection are not
available in every version.

In this message is a simple sample from me what you can try. (It is access
it creates everything complete)

I hope this helps,
