Collection Base Serialization

looking at Jeffrey Richters article on serialization, I decided to do custom
serialization for a collection class that inherits from CollectionBase.

In GetObjectData( )
I created an array of objects and looped through the collection getting each
item (which is actually of another class of mine) and putting it in the
array, then I added that to be serialized as an item.

Then on IDeserializationCallBack method, I reversed that process.

Is this the correct way to handle it (considering in the future these
classes could change and I'd want to be able to still somehow read
previously saved documents for my application)?

Was this overkill? Is there a better way?

Thanks,

Shane
