arranging windows

..Net offers the ability to manage child windows in a grouped tabbed
structure. This logical structure is critical for when many child windows
are opened at the same time.

What I'm wondering is if .Net (or even an existing utility program) allows
you to manage other windows in a similar fashion. For example, if I am
chatting with 40 people using Yahoo! Messenger, I'd love to be able to drag
and drop each chat window into a container application of some sort, and
have the ability to manage the windows in the grouped tab structure that I
mentioned above. Maybe create a group for 'Friends' and another for
'Associates' etc...

Ideally, once the windows have been arranged, I could save the layout, so
that the next time i start a conversation with Jane Doe, I can drag her chat
window into the container and she'll fit neatly into her place in the
layout.

Has someone done this? Can this be done!!?? I'm amazed that an operating
system called 'Windows' doesn't allow you to arrange your windows in a way
other than Horizontally, Vertically or Cascading.

Thanks,
Jesse
