differences between visual studio 2003 and web matrix

P: n/a

I have been working through Scott Mitchell's book on in 24 hours and
found the book very informative - within the web matrix API.

However when I try to move those new skills into the visual studio 2003 EA
environment, I find that many of the things don't translate very well for

1. I cannot find the equivalent of the data tab in the web matrix workspace
pane to create a new MSDE connection;
2. working with data is easy in web matrix using the select data method -
visual studio has so many options for data methods that I can't work out
which one to use for a simple select type sql table
3. making the dataset functions is automatic (almost) - maybe this is the
same if I work out how to do number 2.
4. and data binding is easy (with simple code)

Could someone please point out where the data tab equivalent is in visual
studio (is this the server explorer? ) and which data function in the
toolbox is the equivalent of the web matrix select data method.
