Encrypting Dataset Revisited

P: n/a
Well, I've tried everything I can think of. As a
backstep, I am using Framework v1.0
Anyhew, the scenerio I have is I want to save the
contents of a DataSet to the HDD, but I want it encrypted
using 3DES. Now, it wouldn't make too much sense for me
to save out the XML from the DataSet to disk, then read
it back in and encrypt it to save it again. I am
attempting to do it all in memory using a MemoryStream,
but all attempts have failed. I have even tried to
serialize the DataSet to XML, but that fails as well.
I'm about ready to have to write a custom DataClass just
so I can encrypt it. I'm sure some will say that I
should just use a newer version of the Framework, but, I
don't have the funds to upgrade my old Visual Studio .Net
2002 to a newer version.
Can anyone suggest any other ideas?
