Write website in ASP.NET for VB.NET?

I have a website written in Coldfusion MX and also uses VB.NET apps to do
certain processes. I'm going to create an area that only the website
administrator will have access to. Is there any advantage to writing it in
ASP.NET rather than CFMX? I thought ASP.NET would provide better
integration with the VB.NET apps in the way of polling if the VB.NET apps
are running, communicating with them and providing info on other apps.

Any comments are welcome.

Thanks,
Brett
